Why watch The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2?
SEASON 1
The story of The Mandalorian begins five years after the recognitions of Star Wars: episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) and the fall of the Empire.
The series introduces Din Djarin, a Mandalorian and solitary bounty hunter who makes his way through the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. The events are set in motion when Greef Karga assigns him the mission of collecting a 50-year-old target, but to his surprise he meets a boy, since the race to which he belongs – the same as Master Yoda’s – has a shape of aging differently from humans.
Djarin must meet in the small Grogu with those of his species, an order of sorcerers called Jedi. Along the way, the inseparable duo faces all kinds of threats that endanger Grogu’s destiny and the Mandalorian’s mission.
SEASON 2
Season 2 of The Mandalorian finds Din Djarin still on a mission to bring Grogu to the Jedi to begin his training. On his way, he met Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), but she refused to stay with the boy.
She gives the Mandalorian one last hope by telling him that she will take him to Titan, a planet where one of the first temples of the Jedi Order is located. At the top of the mountain, Grogu manages to connect with the Force to find his destiny.
So, in the last chapter of the season, they meet Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to surprise the audience.
In the last scene, Din Djarin takes off his helmet and says goodbye to the little boy with sadness and emotion when he sees him follow the path in Luke’s arms.
THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT
In 2021, The Book of Boba Fett arrived on Disney+. It is a Lucasfilm original series that is temporally set moments after the credits of season 2 of The Mandalorian.
The story, made up of seven chapters, explores the power vacuum that prevails after the disappearance of Jabba the Hutt. In this way, the audience was transported to the criminal side of the Galaxy, together with the bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and the mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), who returned to Tatooine to claim their right to the territory that had been under the rule of Jabba and his crime syndicate.
Chapter 6 of the series takes a break from the Fett and Shand storyline to focus on Din Djarin, who has turned Grogu over to the Jedi and, towards the end of the chapter, accepts Shand’s offer to join in the rows of Fett’s army to confront the Pyke Syndicate.
In the series, the action also moved to Luke Skywalker, who assumes the task of training Grogu, giving him the option to follow the path of the Jedi or to return with the Mandalorian.
In the final chapter of the season, Grogu and Mando will be together again.
Without a doubt, there are many reasons to watch seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian, including the excellent scripts and performances, the magical relationship between the protagonists and all the mystique of the saga of War of the galaxiesexclusive of Disney Plus.
