Valentine’s Day it is a great opportunity to further fatten the couple, a special friend or an important family member. For this day of love and friendship to be different, preparing a post with your own hands will always be a great option. While you can buy cupcakes, cookies and other sweets, there is no greater show of affection than being encouraged to get down to work yourself.
In this note we share the recipe for a “Love Surprise”, a cake with a heart-shaped center, by David Vega, chef baker of Puratos.
Ingredients:
For the cake:
- 370 g Flour
- 350 g Casa Sabor Vanilla Cake
- 440 g of sugar
- 350 g Water
- 350 g Eggs
- 100 ml. Oil
- 140 g of Margarine
For the heart filling:
- 600 g Reserve too much
- Passion red coloring to taste
- 20 gr. Coldfil cutter (adds color)
For the Ganash:
- 150 g Carat Coverlux Semi Bitter
- 150 g Chantypack
Preparation:
Base
- Put eggs, water, sugar, flour, vanilla flavor in the blender and mix for two minutes on low speed.
- Beat on medium speed for 5 minutes and slow down once the time is up.
- Finally, add the oil and margarine (this should be at the bottom, but not liquid) to the mixture and beat for another two minutes on low speed.
Heart-shaped filling
- Place in a bowl 600 gr. of the premix and add red dye, coldfil strawberry and mix. All this must be placed on a flat band and baked for 15 minutes at 180 ° C.
- With a heart marker, cut out the hearts needed to place in the center of the baked cake in the first step. Add 150 gr. of dough from the first part and place the hearts in the middle of the raw dough at 90 ° so that they are as in the photo. Bake for 15 minutes at 150 ° C.
Ganash
- Melt the semi-bitter chocolate, heat the Chantypack and mix everything. Wait until it cools down enough and start pouring the cake with the mixture.
- Finally, garnish with Carat Coverlux Semi Bitter chocolate chips and place 3 wreaths of red elastic dough on top.
