This Wednesday, September 21, the new Star Wars series premiered in streaming, starring Diego Luna, recreating the character he had played in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We review the opinions of the public and critics to decide whether or not to see Andor en Disney Plus.
According to the IMDb portal, acquired by Amazon a few years ago, the public’s rating was 8.3 points out of a maximum of 10. An excellent and not very light score for The Mandalorian which has 8.7. And very far from the 7.1 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
On Metacritic.com, opinions are quite different. The trade press said an average approval of 74% out of a maximum of 100%. But, viewers were rather more critical and only gave it a tip of 5 out of a maximum of 10.
On the RottenTomatoes portal, the Average Tomatometer approved 89%, while the Average Audience Score achieved 80%.
As it turns out, in general, except for the Metacritic.com public who are more radical in their opinions, the consensus is that Andor must be seen on Disney Plus.
The first three episodes won’t show big action scenes, and while the aesthetic is clearly Star Wars, it has its own personality, with good camera handling and special effects, worthy of a series intended for streaming. It includes, far superior to other proposals designed for the cinema.
The Andor series, which presents a story more linked to suspense than science fiction, takes place five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a proposal that can also be watch on Disney Plus.
