The reviews of The Last of Us, the new HBO Max series — Conocedores.com

This Sunday, January 15, premiered the new HBO Max series based on the video game of the same name. And with a great repercussion from the public, what were the reviews of The Last of Us? Fortunately for his fans, the reviews were more positive.

OK on the portal Metacritic.com, and after reviewing the criticism of 36 journalists and communications, The Last of Us got an approval of 84%. While on the part of the public it got a score of 8.2 points out of a maximum of 10.

One of the best reviews of The Last of Us came from the Los Angeles Times newspaper, which stated: “A prestigious series based on a prestigious video game, with distinctions of quality that places this story in a league of its own. The TV adaptation is such a gripping story of survival because it leaves ample room for wildness and love, despair and selflessness. No prior knowledge of the saga is required to get caught up in this rich drama. An exciting experience”.

The San Francisco Chronicle assured: “This is not just a revolutionary adaptation of a video game. It’s a great show, period.”

For its part, Rolling Stones magazine said: “It’s essentially a smarter, much better executed The Walking Dead, with higher production values and a smaller, stronger cast. But the character work soon becomes so powerful that there are long periods without an infected head, and the series doesn’t seem to lack dramatic tension or a memorable incident.’

After the good reviews of The Last of Us, will there be a season 2? Although HBO Max has not yet confirmed it, something may happen at any moment, it is more certain that the platform continues with the series given the need for original content from the services streaming.

What is the stretch?

The series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon turns into a brutal journey as they all have to cross the United States and depend on each other to survive.

The cast includes Pedro Pascal (known for his character in Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian) as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Anna Torv as Tess, among a long list.
