Let’s review the names that will be part of the third edition of the Okkult Session, which will be held on October 9 at the Mon hall in Madrid.
After the pandemic, the live music industry has been hit hard. Some concert halls have had to cease their activity, event promoters have disappeared, and it has left a scene reeling, which was already suffering from the new domination of festivals among the most massive public. Fortunately, there are still projects as ambitious and dedicated with all the affection to live music, such as Madness Live.

For this reason, they will celebrate the third edition of the Okkult Session, a kind of mini-festival, on October 9th, in the Mon room, in which we will have 5 iconic bands of pure metal thrall.
The name that perhaps stands out the most, or at least that’s how they’ve been placed on the poster, is that of Orange Pazuzu. I had the chance to see them live earlier this year, and I must say that the Finns are at a stratospheric live level. Black metal of the good, with psychedelic excursions and moments of absolute musical freedom, which in certain subjects, such as the marvelous Ilmestysthey even invite you to dance.
Another name that stands out on the poster is pallbearer Americans give doom how little they know, and I understand, that they are a live picker. Really looking forward to hearing the Forgotten Days (2020) on a stage
One of the groups that excites me the most is the band from Boston Elder. Difficult to classify, with elements of stoner, progressive, psychedelic rock or even doom metal. I have a feeling they may be the big surprise of the event, personally.
Another American band, the youngest of this Okkult Session, is iris. Formed in 2015 in the United States, they have only one studio album, the Order of the Mindof 2020. Progressive wild metal to break our necks.
And we close the edition with the British Telepathy, who define themselves as cinematic “Sludge”. Only a few songs released so far, but all of them look sensational. Very eager to see what they offer us.
