This Thursday, the streaming giant announced its new bet to compete, mainly against Disney Plus and other streaming platforms such as HBO Max, offering cheaper bonuses. Here are the prices of the Netflix voucher with advertising as of November 3rd.
On the one hand, there will be between four and five minutes of advertising for each hour of content and the video quality will be limited to 720p. Also, the Netflix voucher with advertising will have some limitations in terms of series and movies that will not be available, according to the company, due to “licensing restrictions”. It will also not be possible to download for offline viewing. And only one connection per user will be allowed.
The advertising spots will be released before the program begins and in the middle.
This Basic plan with Ads will be priced at $6.99 for the United States, which will be a dollar cheaper than the $7.99 Disney Plus subscription will cost from December, also with advertising. .
But, unlike Netflix, Disney Plus will not place content restrictions or downloads and the material will be available to watch in Full HD and 4K, ideal for televisions. Netflix’s 720p is not ideal for viewing on large screens, although it is optimal for mobiles and tablets.
The prices of the Netflix voucher with advertising and the traditional ones:
Basic with Ads: US$ 6.99 per month
(1 device at a time, 720p quality, no offline download, with advertising, content restrictions)
Basic without Ads: US$ 9.99 per month
(1 device at a time, 720p quality, offline download on 1 device)
(2 devices at once, 1080p quality, offline download on 2 devices)
(4 devices at once, quality up to 4K, offline downloads up to 4 devices at once).
Despite this new option with advertising, Netflix will remain the most expensive platform in terms of content, transmission quality and simultaneous numbers of people who can watch and download.
Disney Plus, for example, will have its traditional $10.99 subscription with multiple devices at once, multi-device downloads and up to 4K quality. A similar plan on Netflix costs twice as much: US$ 19.99.
These prices are for the United States, but are a key indicator for the rest of the markets. no doubt Disney Plus is still one of the best options to subscribe toespecially in Latin America, thanks to the combination with Star Plus that offers ESPN’s live sports.
