The difference between innate and nat is the way it is used since nat means “birth” e innate means “born in” or “born by”.
Both the word nat or nata and the word innate or innata derive from Latin but do not share the same origin. Nato comes from Latin born which corresponds to “born” instead innate comes from the verb born which refers to someone “born in”.
Nato generally refers to positions or titles of honor awarded by merit or the natural or birth predisposition to do a certain thing. The word nat can be used, for example, in the following contexts:
- no born
- born leader
- born talent,
- natural conversationalist,
- Unborn child or unborn baby, etc.
Innate on the other hand is used to indicate that one person was born with a certain attitude or quality. Some examples of the use of the word innate are:
- innate talent,
- innate gift,
- Innate fear of heights,
- innate potential,
- Innate errors of the organism, etc.
We can consider a born and innate as synonyms despite being used in different contexts. One way to differentiate them is:
- use nat to define hierarchies or birth as a phenomenon and
- use innate for inherited abilities and characteristics.
