Waking up in the morning and opening the curtains to a misty, foggy morning; there’s a chill in the air and it’s time to get going, winter is here! And while there’s a lot to love about winter: steaming cups of tea, steaming bowls of soup, and plenty of fruit and vegetables, it’s also the time to take a little extra care of your hair and skin. The winter season can be quite brutal and is often the time when you lose a lot of hair, mostly because you don’t take care of it properly. Here are some things to keep in mind during winter to have hair that everyone will love!
Wash only when necessary
Hair and scalp have oil in oily hair there is an excess and in dry hair less than necessary. But every time you shampoo your hair, you wash away all the natural oils from your scalp, leaving your hair dry and brittle. During the winter deep wave wig, it is essential that you wash your hair only once or twice a week and preferably with a shampoo that does not contain parabens and SLS/SLES.
Olive oil or coconut oil
It doesn’t matter if you choose a luxurious jojoba oil, a delicious extra virgin olive oil or the ever-trusty coconut oil; you must make sure to oil your hair before every shampoo. If you feel like pampering your hair, you can also add a few drops of essential oil like rosemary, which is good for hair.
Alternatively, you can look at Ayurvedic oils with the goodness of Brahmi, bhringaraj, amla and other herbs. Whichever oil you choose, remember to warm it up a bit and then massage it into your scalp and length of hair. Allow the oil to nourish your hair for at least 30 minutes before washing.
Condition first, wash second
Many people tend to wash their hair first and then condition it. However, if you go to a good hair and skin clinic, chances are they’ll tell you to do it the other way around. When you condition after shampooing, not all of the conditioner can be washed out; this can cause dirt and grime to stick to the conditioner particles, causing hair damage. However, if you apply the conditioner first and let the conditioner soak in, the shampoo will wash away any excess and leave your hair feeling healthy and soft!
Hot or warm water?
While it may feel great to be in a warm shower on a cold winter morning, your hair may not be feeling so great. Have you ever lace front wigs wondered why you use hot water to wash greasy dishes, because hot water removes oil residue faster and more effectively? So naturally, when you pour hot water on your hair, all the natural oils are washed away, leaving your hair dry and brittle, and your scalp dry and prone to flakes. Regardless of the season, it’s best to stick with warm water.
Hide those styling tools: Winter is the time of year when your hair is already very delicate; so when you use harsh chemicals or styling tools that use extreme heat, you expose them to more potential damage.
So, just for the winter months, keep these styling tools and products away and use them only when you need them.
Pamper your hair
This is also the time to pamper your hair – whether you want to get a hot oil massage or go to a spa for the right hair, go for it. You can use a hair serum or even a night oil to make sure your hair gets the moisture it needs. Depending on your hair type, you can also look for hair masks made with aloe vera, yogurt or egg as they can provide deep hydration.
